Our Highway Sanitation Technician, Paul Brooks responds to reports of dead deer six days per week. If a call is received before mid-morning, the deer is usually picked up the same day.
We have been averaging over 1,600 deer per year and disposed of over 140 tons at the landfill to date. In 2001, The Litter Board purchased a new pickup truck for this program, equipped with a lift-gate for easier and safer loading of the carcasses, some of which weigh in at well over 100 pounds.
