The Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Day Program is the largest state-administered volunteer effort in the nation. More than 200,000 volunteers from across the Commonwealth join in the litter pickup. April is "Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Month" and we urge people to help keep state roads clean and litter-free. Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Month reinforces the state's public-private partnership that works to keep the Commonwealth clean and litter-free. PennDOT marks April as the start of "spring cleaning" along state roads. On Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful (KPB) Day -- which coincides with the anniversary of Earth Day -- volunteers help remove litter from roadsides, parks and other areas. Groups that want to participate in roadside cleanups are encouraged to call their nearest PennDOT county maintenance office. With the help and support of concerned volunteers, private industry, schools, service organizations, youth groups and other government agencies, we can win the fight against litter.
